Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plan

Oakland University prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, 宗教, 信条, 性, 年龄, 婚姻状况, 国家的起源, mental or physical disability, political belief or affiliation, 资深地位, 性ual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, and any other class of individuals protected from discrimination under state or federal law in any aspect of the access to, 入学, or treatment of students in its programs and activities, or in employment and application for employment.

In order to accomplish the goals set forth in the institution's role and mission statement, it is essential that Oakland University's work force be appropriately representative of all racial and ethnic groups and of every gender identity. 相应的, the University establishes an Affirmative Action Plan for the purpose of elimination and/or avoiding racial and 性ual imbalances in traditionally segregated job categories. The goal of the Plan shall be to achieve within the University community a work force that is reasonably representative of minorities and women as measured by the race and 性 mix of persons with the requisite skills within the reasonable employee recruiting area of the University. Once the goal is reached, a plan will no longer be necessary or appropriate, since any significant imbalances will have been eliminated. The University's commitment to equal opportunity shall, however, continue undiminished.

OU recognizes that each member of our community is unique, and that diversity is both essential to and a highly-valued attribute of the University as a site for learning and work.
